A major touchstone in my life is gone, the albums and concerts are like the yearly events that I used to mark my own passage thru' this daft experience.
They also brought to many many places that I simply would not have travelled to and all those Fall fans who I've met in all those cities in Europe.
Thank you, Mr Smith and company for everything.

Mark E Smith
Dead now.
4 and a bit words
Mark E Smith
Dead now

Too small
Too small
The words don't
Fit.

The words don't
Fit.
I want to
Pretend
To shout
It from the
Rooftops
In his country,
England.

England
Made him.
England
Forced the poetry
From his veins.

"Industrial Estate".
Who else
Could have
Made Art
From that?

I carry that.
And my door is
Always open
To you-oooooo oooo.

A one-off, truly original individual who will sorely missed by music fans across the country. I feel empty at the thought of not being able to see them live again....

If you took all the great music you've ever heard and got someone to spit it back out at you in a wall of sound and you've got the fall.
A sad day.
RIP the afterlife up.

Myself and all at Dandelion Radio send condolences to the band / family of the great man. John Peel is our inspiration, and I think I can say that every one of us holds Mark & The Fall in a special place in our hearts. We are putting together tribute shows, which will stream as part of our February output. www [dot] dandelionradio [dot] com - from Thursday.

Don't really know what to say.........
Ive been with The Fall since I was a teenager and now in my late 40's. Although many legends have left us recenly, this one is the hardest to process and the one that I fell I was closest to. Ive seen The Fall more than any other band in my life and have always found the music and stage perfromances truly unique and electric. Even if Mark didn't come on or came on and went off again or if they came on late or if they fought on stage, none of it mattered, it was all part of the experience. Ive even managed to sing live with the band when on 2 occasions Mr SMith handed me the microphone and told me to sing...once in Aberdeen and again in Norwich. A huge gap left and sorry that its taken this for me to go back and delve into the deeper cuts. One point of solice if that my 19 year old daughter is now getting into the back catalogue..........gutted!

When Mark E. handed his mike to front-stage fans mouthing his words,
did he want to hear that he was heard?

Beyond the God-den
of Hex-Finity

What does a death
Make you eat, ah?
Crows bells ssuh
Wake-up call
To get up
Before The Fall.

Get out of the haze
Crazed haze
What’re the best daze
Of your Strife-Knot,
Blood clot,
When only
Your boots stood you up?

Friendz without endz
Make E. lives
In your synapses, souls
In those who heard
Hear, are here.
Gripped in mind meld
We hear
Still hear, MES
Upstart!
Not in death
Do you depart.
Ah, hah-hah!
Knot in this Hex-Finity.

Curmudgeon genius man
Defied life
Denies death
Strife Not!

Your caterwauls
Echo
Revelations exclaim
Reformations
Will never end

The heart of the matter
The heart of the matter
Yes-ssuh!
Our mind doors
Will always be open
to you.

When he said, “From head patient to you, the patients. I love you all,”

We are The Fall !
