Me too, I didn't even know until the Monday after when a workmate told me. It felt like losing a close friend even though I'd never met him personally, I first heard them on John Peel and went to see them at Nottingham's Sandpiper club in 1979, the last time was at Reading festival in 1991/2 (not sure which; the sins of youth etc.) and although I made plans to go to other gigs something always got in the way and the plan postponed. The Fall and MES have been with me through some dark and difficult times and I don't know what will replace that but we still have a huge body of work to remember an icon by thankfully and it's reminded me to never put things off until later. do it today because you might not be here tomorrow.
