New Facts Emerge

Post by Edwise » Thu Aug 03, 2017 1:59 am

So my darling dancers - what do you think?

I have only listened on repeat for the last four hours. It was our wedding anniversary and we managed to get drunk at home by 9PM. We had to listen to Roxette until my wife went to bed.

I think that it is a worthy addition to the canon. There is one track - ( I have to pay attention) "O! Zztrrk Man" stands out from ye rest. On ye first few listens.

Elena is not there in anyway and nohow

I can see myself putting New Facts Emerge on when members of the general public are in my house. It is quite a 'listenable' collection.

Bloody knots. I 've just realised that a full 8 minutes and 48 seconds is just the musicians playing around on a theme. It's not like they invented it or anything.
Shock horror! The Fall in filler track scandal.

I have had a dozen listens now, its solid. I think the most recent output, SLT this number, The Remmainerer and Wise Old Man ep's and NFE are a big stop up for Ersatz GB and OFYC, although there were some great tracks on both Bury and the strangely over looked Taking Off. The current stuff is a mile better than the dark days of the Marshall Suite, Light User and Levitate.

I am not going to do a track by track review, its all subjective anyway, but my favourite is 9/10. While in my world The Fall should have a keyboard player I have to say....I don't miss it at all on this outing.

Mark, thanks mate and you take care now eh!

I with you. After a few sober listenings- 'tis a fine piece of work.
The band really dominate this album. They sound as if they are enjoying being a band (even if it is The Fall).
The most since the American Black Eagles.
MES is in fine form.
I do miss Elena.
I use the last 9 minutes as Fall karaoke. Now if only I could stop swearing

better than I imagined, but still not better than SUBLINGUAL - better than re-mit easy tho. i would rank NFE better IF zaptrack had better vox and if 9/10 didn't sound like a scratchy badly recorded demo... MES is messing with us a bit... 9/10 is almost peter hammill meets jacques brel like , just wish it was a better version

elena is missed

For some reason-I did not listen to SubLingualTablet much. It just didn't make much of an impact. But I went back to it over the last week and it is a lot better than I remember. Putting it backtoback with NewFactsEmerge- I prefer NFE probably because I can make up mine own Fallsong at the end.
